Stage Right presents the heartwarming
"Crimes of the Heart"

Stage Right is presenting “Crimes of the Heart,” a tragic-comedy written by Beth Henley, at Boyd Community Center in O’Hara Township. The show will run four days only, February 3-6, 2010.

“Crimes of the Heart” is the Pulitzer-Prize winning tragic-comedy that explores the cultural dynamic of family life in 1970s’ Hazlehurst, Miss. The play reunites three sisters during the time in their lives when they are struggling and need family the most.

The eldest sister Lenny is concerned that she’ll never find a husband. Middle sister Meg’s singing career is failing, and Babe, the youngest sister, is out on bail after shooting her husband in the stomach. The past blurs into their present dysfunctions, but as often happens, the biggest laughs come from the darkest moments in life, making this show both touching and entertaining. This show may not be suitable for young children.

“Crimes of the Heart” is directed by Deborah Wein, and features Stage Right veterans Teresa L. Trich as Lenny and Joe Eberle as Doc. The cast is also made up of some very talented newcomers that we hope to see back, Deborah Bender as Meg, Zara Ostrander as Babe, Stacey Rosleck as Chick, and Rodney Boyers as Barnette.

You may reserve tickets by calling 412-828-8566 x11. Tickets will also be available at the door, first come, first serve. Seating is limited. Attendees should arrive early. The box office opens at 7 p.m.; doors open at 7:30; curtain is at 8. A limited number of tables may be reserved with a pre-paid reservation of six or more people.

Tickets are $12.50 per person and include light refreshments served during intermission. Audience members may bring wine and beer, no spirits please. Special $5 ticket deal for students with proof of I.D. for Thursday’s performance.
